Okafur is not as good offensively as Cousins, Aldridge or Gasol... unless he surprises me with uncanny offensive rebounding and low post scoring and finesse i will say he will struggle to average 15-20ppg...in the nba... hell probably be more like 10-12ppg in his first year and anything less than double digit rebounding average for all his hype would be a dismal failure. He will be better than all of them on the block ^^ and anywhere near the hoop. Enough to attract doubles and make defenses sag and he's shown great passing ability out of double teams. He will be better than all of them on the block? I might be, but I doubt it.

I'd project him to be better than Gasol, who's strong suit isn't his offense and LaMarcus who's more of a high post player. Cousins, is questionable since DeMarcus is pretty solid down low. But his attitude will absolutely positively be better than his and that's good enough for me.

Let me know the type of names you find, especially the ones with similar volume down there. He was absolutely special down low and I agree with 2b about his attitude

Reports are saying Lakers are locked for okafor now. Of course it could be a ploy to get towns I don't think it's a ploy. 1st, Towns is probably the consensus #1 and being at 2, that decision is out of the Laker's hands. But, the fact that Towns isn't giving workouts to anyone might be one of those character things that article was pointing out. You want to get someone with talent, who has high character, and wants to be a Laker. If Towns isn't giving workouts because he feels he has nothing to gain, to me, that's a character issue and not a ringing endorsement that he cares about the Lakers. He figures he'll be #1 and doesn't really care where. Anyway, it is one of those situations where it is actually better to be in the 2 spot.

Good find " ...sources within the Lakers organization tell TMZ Sports Jahlil MURDERED his private workout with the team today.
We spoke with a high ranking source in the Lakers organization who tells us the team put Jahlil through an up close and personal workout this morning -- just like they did with Kobe back in '96 -- and the 19-year-old was nothing short of spectacular.
"Just off what we saw out of today’s workouts, Jahlil has the potential to not just be one of the best big men in the league but one of the best to put on a Lakers jersey."

I view it as a sign of a smart (or well advised, and thus smart for hiring folks with expertise outside of his) kid who understands game theory and risk assessment.

Towns likely knows he is going #1 no matter what. So he does not need to work out privately for any team until he gets drafted.
I do think it's funny how Jahlil keeps talking Towns up as deserving to go #1 lol.

Why do you willingly spell his name wrong?
If Towns is available at 2 for the Lakers, I will give you 10-1 that they don't trade it and just take Towns.

If towns fails to workout for Lakers. And wolves do take okafor. My guess is we end up with Russell.
I know it's a strech but something tells me Mitch ain't having it.
He seemed really eager to get him in for a workout which that alone should tell you something.

It's a big If that's the thing. Just a gut feeling if you will. Obviously my brain tells me otherwise.

He seemed really eager to get him in for a workout which that alone should tell you something. Seemed eager, seemed being keyword there. Mitch is a snake. And he is trying not to show his cards. He was cornered by Bill Plaschke on the question of big vs small in this Draft and gave a complete non answer even when pressed.
