lol lakers really control their own destiny for the 8 seed with Phoenix also having a tough game vs Minnesota fighting for the #1 seed Brandon Ingram: that's fine. Pelicans are a good matchup for the Lakers based on earlier season results. Plus I want the Lakers to have a tough tune up. someone they actually take seriously

If the standings hold and Lakers play the Suns on the road and lose is the next game a home game for them as the higher seed of the 9/10? Yes, guaranteed a home game in the play-in tourney if you're the 8th seed and lose the first game vs 7th seed. I think Suns have tie breaker over Pellys, so Laker game and Suns v Wolves are critical for all 4 teams if I am looking at it correctly. Too bad games are at the same time. Would be nice to know the Suns lost, so Pellys would not need to win to avoid play in.

Wow Kings lose to Suns on a Nurkic FT and Lakers now own the 8th seed and will keep hold of it if they beat the Pelicans on Sunday. Kings/Warriors 9th / 10th seed Saw that. Nurkic that mf is a big ox. Manhandling Sabonis is no small feat. Knew his acquisition was going to be huge for them. He really is. And whats crazy is AD destroyed Nurk every time they played this season except that last game vs them. Nurk was a monster in that game. Sabonis had some costly plays down the stretch tonight, bad turnover and a couple fouls. Got caught.

If the Lakers win that game, and the Suns beat Minny, I'm pretty sure the Lakers would have to play the Pelicans AGAIN in New Orleans for the 7th/8th seed play-in game.
