Their assistant coaches looked livid with Beasley and Dames defense on Reaves/DLo. Especially on that final Reaves 3pt shot in 2OT. Reaves acted like Beasley didn't even exist multiple times on his drives. Dame blew switch coverages a couple times on those as well and Beasley was bitching at him about it. They have zero shot a championship with this team imo. Some team will abuse them along the way, be it in the east or the Finals.

To have a shot they would have needed to pair a backcourt mate with Dame in the mold of Alex Caruso. Someone who can play lockdown D, rebound and not dominate the rock while also being a capable outside shooter. He would have plugged the Jrue sized hole theyr created. But to go with Malik Beasley? Lol at their GM and coaching staffs. Because of this deficiency they should have looked to move Middleton who no longer fits with Dame. Get an active lengthy defensive wing and they’d have improved. Also Dame can’t be half rare Dame for them to have a chance. 50M+ a year has to play like one of the best 10-15 players in the league to make the gamble pay off. He’s in the 25 range this season imo.

If they wanted to fire someone over the defensive deficiencies, it should've been whomever green-lit the Dame trade. Jrue may not fix all of the issues, but he would certainly help. That was Giannis, homie. That's akin to blaming Lebron for Westbrook. The GM needs to have balls.
