If their egos would allow them (meaning Phil's and LeBron's), Phil Jackson playing the role of special assistant a la Tex Winters (only for home games, not having to travel with the team) is also very intriguing to me.

If Quin Snyder's contract allows him to look elsewhere, I would be interested in him. Rajon Rondo would make a good assistant coach. The big question is whether LeBron would be interested in coming back as a Laker because if he doesn't come back next year, Lakers management will have some real tough challenges with the future direction of the ball club. Quin has been in ATL like a year and a half, I wouldn't mind him but there is no way he is let go, he's still got like 3 years left

Interesting the Lakers held all their player exit interviews with Pelinka in Denver after the game last night. Got it done and out of the way asap, hopefully to move on from Ham sooner rather than later.

Agree. Pelinka saw what was going on on the court, and he's probably heard an earful from Lebron and AD already.
That being said, DLo needs to go. His coming up short in the playoffs spans just this team and coach, and Reeves was a big disappointment from the beginning of his season. Not sure what happened.
Still need shooter and spacers. Need a PF that can help with the other teams' skilled big men.

Sourcing all your support players as an offensive players is a problem. Having support players who can play defense but suck ass on offense is a problem. Having a coach who doesn’t know how to build balance within the roster was a problem. Reaves is ok imo. He is who he is; a talented support player who can have big break out moments. He works hard on defense but has limitations. A strong defensive backcourt mate would go a long way. Alex Caruso would have changed the whole game. DLo likely will go on his own as he simply isn’t a 3rd star. He’s whatever is after that and that’s probably good enough for a handful of teams but not us. We ultimately had no bench because all the scoring was in the starting lineup. Good luck sourcing scoring from veterans minimum cast offs like the past 4-5 years. Draft better. Wasted our best pick since Lonzo Ball on a guy who played scared and had no outside shot. That’s a huge swing and miss considering what was drafted AFTER him. The team doesn’t really have much maneuvering capability besides trading Rui, who played so poorly this postseason his stock is low. They have more picks to trade now but do we want to sacrifice those for just 1 more attempt with Lebron / AD? There was a story today about KD, but the Suns will look to trade Beal before they trade KD.

There was a story today about KD, but the Suns will look to trade Beal before they trade KD. The Suns need to blow up the entire team. There is no synergy there at all, even between Booker and KD. I heard Booker wants badly to go to NY and the Knicks. Not sure if it's true. But I agree that the Lakers have very limited space to move, and 1 year with the Lebron and AD combo with the loss of any future picks for the next 3 years is a very hard pill to swallow.

Westbrook was only moveable because he had like what, half a year on his contract? He's someone they'd have to attach multiple assets to to move, and they don't have those assets.

Indeed they are more fucked than even us and moving Beal would take a miracle but I don’t see them as seeing their out as trading Durant. He’s the best player they’ve had since MVP Barkley 30+ years ago. Booker could be moved possibly but only if he demands it which ii don’t see

www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/40066112/mat-ishbia-says-phoenix-suns-great-position-declines-address-frank-vogel-statusIshbia strikes me as the kind of raw raw guy that always wore corporate logo outfits to every occasion, where his company can wrong, and it's never his problem....it's always your problem. He is in many ways a younger Steve Balmer. Neither Ishbia nor Balmer founded the companies that made them rich, but they will take credit for their rapid growth. Balmer's inability to see the technologies that would revolutionize the world, sticking stubbornly to the "tried and true" Wintel monopoly, led to his ouster at MSFT. It's no surprise that MSFT is now thriving with a new CEO at the helm. Ishbia took his father's mortgage business and supercharged it with the leverage and low interest access to funds that has been the reality up to recently. Time will tell if the higher interest rate environment will create headwinds to his business model. Long story short, these two have a disease called "Everthing I touch turns to gold"itist. It may blind them to the reality that is their respective teams situations. Or Ishbia is a massive fake and a liar. Or two things can be true at the same time.

What the fuck does he know about basketball? Like you said he took daddy’s business of mortgage lending and made a ton of money. Whoop dee doo. I’m glad he thinks Frank did a great job. It means Frank will be there next season and they will fail again because Frank is waaaay behind the times. Swap him and Udoka and you get wildly different results in Houston and Phoenix.

Reminds me of a certain politician who benefitted from his father's real estate properties in NY, and then just drives every business he inherited into the ground, but chimps think he's a business genius......
