New Orleans: I guess a coach can make this much of a difference Tough to argue with that, other than the 3-5 order maybe. As far as the Saints go, its really a matter of two coaches; getting their head coach back and adding Ryan as DC. Their defense, while not stellar, makes this a much better team than years past. Patriots are probably in the discussion for #6 with maybe San Fran?

SF over NE for sure even though SF might not make playoffs NE has lost a lot of defensive talent, which makes it tough. However, they have some issues on offense as well, which with most of their players back should be going away. Maybe Brady is showing signs of mortality.

NE won't use RBs and haven't won anything since they put the ball in Brady's hands and went offense first over defense. People seem to forget when NE won their SBs a decade ago it was with elite defenses, RBs, and clutch FG kicking. Brady was in a game manager role. Also used to share the spotlight with offensive line before he went all Hollywood

Also used to share the spotlight with offensive line before he went all Hollywood They refuse to stick with one RB. They could ride Ridley, who is a solid back, but instead they prefer to use 3-4 different backs. Belichick believes his own hype too much.

Bill is pretty overrated. Thinks he can turn around any bust but always fails and hasn't done anything since he was caught cheating

Guess what Seattle has the weakest SOS in football, so Denver should be ahead of them.

Seattle has the weakest SOS in the league. And no, Seattle hasn't been #1 all year, a #1 team doesn't almost lose to Tampa Bay, St. Louis, and Houston. espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/playoffs/sort/strengthOfSchedule/order/true

"almost" lose? That's what top teams do. Pull out the wins. Much better to be battle tested at this point of the season
SOS drops with a win, but like I said, Seattle has more quality wins than Denver. Denver just got their first and it was far closer than expected

Seattle dominated the Broncos in week 2.................of the preseason, lol.
They are 1A and 1B, both have lost to the same team (Colts), both have had relatively easy schedules.

I gave edge to the team that has #3 ranked offense, #3 ranked defense, and #1 ranked special teams

Manning definitely holds the experience factor though. Agreed, thing about Manning though is he's known as a regular season QB and comes up short a lot in the playoffs. What a heartbreaker loss last year. One of the craziest last second upsets ever. Also with the cold weather SB this year, that doesn't bode well for Manning.

I also put a lot of stock in point differential, which Denver is blowing every other team away in.

Seattle is averaging 12.3 yards per return and has 395 punt return yards, while opponents have just 15 return yards TOTAL for the entire season. #1 tackling efficiency in the league Hell even PFF ranks them #1 with a +31.5 The 2nd ranked team is only +20 I put a lot more stock in defense than point differential. Playoff games are usually a lot tighter and the high scoring teams year after year drop considerably in the big games. Every Phase can make a difference, which is why controlling field position is so big

This is why Denver was 2nd. What a choke job. Special teams mistake.. In a game marred by turnovers by both sides, an untimely bounce on a punt decides the game. Bizarre.
