There you have it...coach and player not on the same page. Ham has shortcomings in every aspect of coaching. Basically saying he bears no responsibility for the Lakers not executing. The good news is this sets up AD to push management to fire Ham.

Clearly Darvin is making a disconnected cognitive point. Your staff can be prepared all you want but if the players on the floor aren’t following your plan in a succinct connected way then your plan needs to adapt, you know, the essence of coaching.

I just don't think Lebron taking a step back 3 with 12 seconds left at the top of the key was the shot they wanted. Remember it's late in the game at high altitude....those shots start to lose efficacy as people are on their last breaths. Also, the switch out with AD guarding Jamal, I still think that was a mistake. But in the end, it's just proven that this Denver team is better than the Lakers and have years left in terms of their age and stages in their career. They have the better 1-2 combo and more importantly, well at least equally importantly, they are better coached. Lebron is old and the Lakers are clinging on to an AD that seems to be missing that extra gear. The current team is cooked. You could tell during the regular season as well. We blew any chance of getting better when we dropped the ball getting Westbrook, and then Ham, and didn't have anything left for a run with Kyrie. We really need to move on. hack, I know you’re frustrated like everyone else but I really don’t understand what it is that you thought should have happened on that last play defensively. It was executed near perfectly by Lebron and AD, just a half step late on the close out by AD, our longest defender. Basically put it this way, I could go frame by frame in slow mo and point out every calculated move by Lebron and AD effectively “dancing” with Jamal and Jokic, a game of reading and reacting to multiple scenarios in real time. The screen by Jokic forces the switch. Fight to go over and Jamal simply blitzes to the basket. AD drops down to pick up the cover and it’s a lob to Jokic. Lebron goes under and Jamal can either force a blocking call by taking it right to Lebron like he did the play before or he could revert back the opposite direction using AD/Jokic as a screen that Lebron can’t see thru. This is the point of running the pick and roll; you get unlimited amount of potential plays. The ONLY way to defend it is to switch. I promise that.

Lakers defended that final play correctly. Best possible scenario there is AD ends up guarding Murray and contests the shot a little better. And while he did contest, that play is designed for a contested fallaway jumper going right from Murray and he canned it. This was the final question asked of AD in his postgame presser at the podium and he slammed the microphone down after saying "Jamal made a shot." Yes Jamal made the shot but I think AD was pissed that he didn't block that shit or contest it just a half-arm further as (imo) he bit a little too hard on the dribble drive jab step-back which gave Murray that tiny bit of extra space to get the clean look. That'd piss off any elite defender. In the postgame presser video below you can see he was obviously pissed that the gameplan went from feeding him to instead feeding Rui. The Nuggets decided to switch Jokic off of AD and onto Rui so Ham decided to keep attacking Jokic with a Lebon/Rui pick and roll instead of Lebron/AD pick and roll for a stretch of the 2nd half and that's when the Nuggets made their run to close the gap. They should have just kept feeding AD against Gordon but they decided to keep attacking Jokic with Rui. This was the source of ADs frustration and his comment about "not knowing what we're doing".

There’s certainly more to AD’s comment than Ham is making of it.
Trust and believe after we get eliminated we’re going to hear a lot more stuff about Ham from the players.

The Heat showing what coaching will get a team

And after watching the Heat beat the Celtics in game 2 it pisses me off even more because they are so well coached and just beat a fully healthy Boston team without their best player (Jimmy Butler).
It illuminates everything the Larkers cannot do when it comes to execution in the playoffs. Boston will still beat them in the series, but it will be competitive BECAUSE of Spoelstra and Pat Riley.

😠 He's 100% right imo. You can't be getting cute in Game 2 on the road after losing Game 1. Go for the fkn throat and ride your horses in the 2nd half. Your horses should be having their hands on their knees gasping for thin air in Denver after the game but with a WIN.

AD and Bron may need to play all 24 in the 2nd half. Bron may need a break, but AD can go all 24.Avoid unforced turnovers and would be nice if AR would make an open 3. Proud of D'Lo's response. Some dude that goes by la86 said this during half time of the game. Maybe he should be the Laker coach. Lol

Wood and Vando officially ruled out for Game 3. Outside of Wood being an extra big body to put on the Joker, their impact would have been minimal anyway given they've had no time to get playoff ready.

I'd be surprised if Vando could provide his ideal impact until mid to late 2nd round at the earliest. Out of all the role players we lost to injury throughout this season he was definitely the most important for the way this roster was constructed.

Video from last season.
Seems like some rah rah talk and then Darvin looks completely lost trying to draw something up on the clipboard.

Joe Tsai and Sean Marks can both fuck themselves. Lakers had enough to get Kyrie, they just had jackasses who only traded him to a place he didn't want to go out of spite. you aren't telling me Dorian Finney Smith and Spencer Dinshittie moved any needles. Mavs fumbled Jalen Brunson and got bailed out by Brooklyn for his replacement We made the better offer and they didn’t want to accommodate Kyrie out of spite the same as the former NO GM did with AD. Looking at Dallas now, Kyrie IS that player who could have made the difference here for us. But I’d still woulda liked Caruso back there with him.

How about a backcourt of KCP and Caruso with Kuz off the bench? Alot of times the best moves are the moves not made. Reaves may or may have not come along, but most likely yes as he wanted to be a Laker. He is more suited as a off the bench player.
