I didn’t realize this kid was as big as he is. Skinny as beanpole but will add his man strength in the coming years. He’s bigger than Durant by several inches.
I didn’t watch NCAA this year so didn’t know much about him or any of the lottery picks, but when I saw Orlando pass on this kid my immediate thought was whoever the Magic drafted isn’t the guy and I began to read about Holmgren. I knew he was skilled but at his height he seems poised to be this next generations version of Dirk, with more modern guard skills to boot.
I’ll definitely watch more OKC this year.

I think with the 1 and done now for the lottery picks you go for players that are unique in addition to being deserving of being a high pick. Holmgren is unique. Handles and can shoot 3s. People compare him to Porzingas.I say no. Chet has guard skills. Super skinny now, but is so young. The #1 pick by the Magic will be solid but not special. Chet gonna be special quick.

Yeah I could see how some would want to compare him to young Porzingis but I agree with you, this kid is much more fluid with the ball in his hands. He reminds me a bit of what I thought of a young Anthony Davis way back when. As we know you also have to have the mind, not only the body to win in this league and he appears to have more of that poise than Kristaps ever did imo. I’m interested to see how he competes.

He certainly is a cocky sob
Asked by Bleacher Report Hoops who he thinks is the best player in the NBA, Holmgren responded: "Myself in two months."

Banchero played Chet back in November and came out on top with Chet in foul trouble. Should be interesting to see them battle for the next decade or more. If you think Chet is big, just wait for Vic next summer...

Sounds like it. Will he ever get as good as Larry is the question No clue but based on what I see right now he has every reason to believe in his skill. My guess is that at least up front guys are going to body him up and he’s going to have to get accustomed to the increased physicality that he’s never had to face in his life until now.

Yeah, that was on display last night as Lofton Jr pushed him around at will.

He's on that 2017 Brandon Ingram Diet Nothing that can't be improved as his mind & body matures though.

Saw Banchero last night and nope, not in any way as impressive as Holmgren. Not surprising that Presti knew what’s up and Orlando is still Orlando.

I'd argue that summer league doesn't mean any more than NCAA really. Different players for sure, and Banchero can bully Chet at this early point in their careers.

I agree Summer league doesn’t mean anything either but I’m not using a matchup between them in Summer League to make judgement. I’m going with my gut reaction to watching them both play individually within that league. I want to see more Banchero but nothing really stood out about him the way it did with Chet for me. I can see how Chet could evolve the game forward in ways Banchero can only dream of doing imo.

Head to head they can each cause problems for the other, but Chet likely impacts his team more.
