If the Dodgers get Yamamoto, they should just wrap up the off-season and get to work on a strategy to win it all this season.
We should know that injuries will be an issue. We should have multiple contingency plans in place.
We know the post-season puts pennant winners at a disadvantage. Plan strategies to keep team hot and ready.
Have mid-season strategies in place to replenish pitching.
Help Freeman and Mookie with their post-season hitting woes.
Have a pitching manager "help" Roberts from making boneheaded pitching decisions.
They owe it to Ohtani and the Dodger core. They will never get another opportunity like this in another generation or two.

I wonder since they pulled the trigger on this one, if they think Yamamoto may be signing elsewhere.

They want both Glasnow and him, and I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't go after Giolito next.

I am good with Yamamoto of course. They are probably talking about a deferred deal lol. Also hopefully Buehler comes back early in the season. Glasnow Buehler Miller Sheehan Yeah one more starter here is needed.

Not only do they need that fifth spot, but they will need another reliable pitcher to throw in there. I don't trust Sheehan to be in the rotation for long periods of time. Also, don't forget Yarbrough who can pick up some spot starts.

During their pitch to Shohei Ohtani, the Dodgers had an ace in the hole.
"One of the highlights of the whole meeting," Ohtani said.
It was a 6-year-old video of Kobe Bryant encouraging him to join the Dodgers.

I believe they never had the chance to show that video to Ohtani, so this time around was the first time they could show him.
If I were Ohtani, it would have sent shivers up my spine. Gotta hand it to the Dodger FO. Sometimes, they do know what they are doing.
On Yamamoto, they are all-in on him from what I have heard, and Ohtani is pushing hard too. If baseball teaches you anything, there is no such thing as too much pitching. Dustin May is not reliable as a starter from a health perspective. Walker Buehler is not reliable from a health perspective. Ohtani won't be pitching for awhile and he's not reliable from a health perspective. Glasnow has had a hell of a time staying healthy.
We need a starting rotation of at least 3 pitchers that are effective and can stay healthy, and right now, I don't think we even have 1. So there is a helluva lot of work to do.
One hopes the young rookies, at least one of them, rises to the occasion (Miller, Grove, Stone, Frasso, Sheehan....letting go of Pepiot for Glasnow is a risk).

I think Miller will be healthy and effective. Also I think Bueller will be too. Yamamotos market has gotten silly, i could see the Dodgers backing off like they did with Cole. I would have kept Pepiot and traded one or two of the other guys not named Miller.

But we have never before seen a free agent where the Yankees, Dodgers, Mets, Giants and Red Sox are all heavily interested in. From the reports I have read, I haven't really gotten a true hint on who is favored for him and what not. He's expected to get paid somewhere around 300 million though and he's the most highly touted pitcher to come over from Japan ever.

Glasnow is healthy now. Yam Glas Miller Buehler likely Yarbrough/Sheehan I don’t know about Buehler….have the Dodger FO said he would be available? He was ready to come back in September but they held him out to save him for this season out of an abundance of caution. He will be on an innings restriction early in the season. I expect he will pitch sometime in April.

They are looking to trade for another starter too lol.
Maybe Corbyn Burnes on a one year rental?
