Welcome to the league young fella.
Mid 2nd quarter now and Spurs are loading up heavily on AD, bringing doubles and sagging in the paint on him. DLo gets a jumper and Lakers start moving the ball and get a Cam Reddish 3.

Wembanyama showing why he is so special tonight.
Monster back to back 3s to give the Spurs a chance.
I’ll tell what I don’t want to see right now on this play by the Spurs: a Wembanyama clean 3p look.

not much to say about this game. Darvin mismanaged it with the use of his timeouts and rotations. got the win I guess but this team should be upset with their performance

AD hits 2 out of 3 3p shots tonight. And it mattered, helped to win the game.

Just rewound and watched the replay… jab stepped, took a dribble, step back. Money. That is a ridiculously difficult move to pull off and make.

I mean you’re mad about a move that has been effectively legalized for 8-9 seasons? The replay was in slow motion and after he picks up the dribble he side step backs and it’s 2 steps release. There won’t be any controversy over its legality just because a giant pulled it off.

Are the Spurs seriously this bad?
Tonight's loss is their 18th in a row. I mean I don't follow them at all, but I would have thought they would been much more competitive than this. Are they missing players?
I know that even one budding superstar player isn't going to instantly turn a franchise around, but the Spurs record reminds me when the Flippers were historically bad in the mid to late 80s.
I know they'll eventually get a win, but I'm sure glad it wasn't tonight. I didn't watch this game but I had a weird feeling about it all day not knowing whether AD was going to play or not.

The lineup he tried to protect the lead with in the fourth has terrible. Both Reaves and DLo together and Wood at the 4? Ole!

Yeah, they never call it on those step back jumpers, even if almost every one is a traveling violation by the book. Same with the Euro step, jump stop, etc.

To do so ONLY when it’s something against your team is silly.

It’s definitely traveling and shouldn’t be allowed. It looks wrong.
The step back and the euro step are blatant violations and I think they’ve upset the integrity of the game.
I blame Harden. He basically started this shit. Now all of the sheep are doing it. I sometimes have counted 4 steps on Giannis’ euro step. He stops dribbling at half court and just takes those long loping steps.
I hate it. Would be called traveling every time before 2010. Somehow, rules have changed…even though they haven’t.

My problem with that Wembanyama play was what he did from when he caught the ball to take the only dribble he took. I see guys catch the ball and shot fake and go to drive and get called for travels taking 1 step all of the time. Then I watch him take like 4 steps before he puts the ball down at all and no travel. It seemed obvious in real time and on replay to me. And I thought they are more strict with travel calls before you dribble the ball vs after you finish your dribble but I guess not
