Play fast, fast, fast and then faster. How nice is it not running the shot clock down and forcing a tough shot just to beat the clock. It is not that they Lakers are hot from 3. They are just getting looks that result in a better percentage. Pretty simple if ask me. Old school Ham does not see it. He SHOULD be designing and molding to play this way WITH LeBron and AD. I think LeBron leads the league in fast break points, so not an issue for him.

We are inching closer to holding the close. Can’t believe how active we are getting rebounds. It makes a huge difference. I know very aggressive tonight. This game no matter who wins is a testament to how good these guys can be if they are guided and coached right. Ham had no choice but to let these guys play fast and to let them shoot freely. But as soon as Lebron and AD come back watch him go right back to that slow predictable offense.

As much as I’ve been disappointed in this team, I’m always going to celebrate a win against the Celtics especially in Boston.
Great win tonight.

d'lo relentlessly attacked the rim, didn't make a single layup, got fouled a ton and got about no calls. glad it shouldn't matter

a game like this makes you wonder if Bron and AD being ball stoppers is a pretty bad thing for this team

a game like this makes you wonder if Bron and AD being ball stoppers is a pretty bad thing for this team The answer to your question is the coach pushing pace. Play with pace the ball will not stop. There have been games where they play right with both AD and Bron. The game plan should be to push the ball and shoot with no less than 15 seconds on the shot clock. No way the ball would stop.

Bron is going to get tired quick running up and down the court like that. he can do it for a little bit, but not consistently for a whole game.

Again falls back on Ham. Trim his minutes. LeBron will be fine. More of a grind playing slow and driving to the basket every time trying to draw a foul at the shot clock. He takes a beating playing half court basketball.

Of course not every trip down would be a shot early in the shot clock. I only recall the times in the win tonight where they ran the 24 second clock down. Christie rushed and turned it over. Other than that they were excellent with pace.

a game like this makes you wonder if Bron and AD being ball stoppers is a pretty bad thing for this team They are by nature of both being isolation players. Iso players KILL this style of play. That’s why it is the coach’s job to guide how to play this way with 2 players like AD and Bron. When I was losing my shit to start the season it was over Ham posting AD up, aka the opposite offense of what we saw tonight. We’ve deviated from that much more as the season has moved forward but AD also needs to play more like Jaxson Hayes did tonight when he doesn’t have rhe ball. No more ball watching. Lebron has already adjusted to not controlling so much and really only isos when he’s looking for his step back 3 or fadeaway mid ranger. Like la86 pointed out he’s excellent at getting out on the break which is astonishing given his age. It can be done but it’s going to take deliberate control from the man deciding the plays and who plays.

The win shows that the Lakers have the talent up and down the roster to compete against anyone.
The problem is that with AD and Lebron on the floor, there is no consistent strategy other then give the ball to AD and Lebron and don't do anything else. Everyone is just waiting as a bailout option.
Can't Ham actually create plays to help out the entire team? Give them better looks? Allow them to be a better part of the flow?
I do think that if the only players are more integral to the offense, they will also get more active and involved in the defense. No player just wants to be on the floor thinking he's not a participating member of the team and just a body to put on an opposing player.
It also makes the opposing players work a little harder on yhe floor.
It's so frustrating seeing a series of bad coaches run talented Lakers teams. This has been going on for 10 years + now.
