The win shows that the Lakers have the talent up and down the roster to compete against anyone. The problem is that with AD and Lebron on the floor, there is no consistent strategy other then give the ball to AD and Lebron and don't do anything else. Everyone is just waiting as a bailout option. Can't Ham actually create plays to help out the entire team? Give them better looks? Allow them to be a better part of the flow? I do think that if the only players are more integral to the offense, they will also get more active and involved in the defense. No player just wants to be on the floor thinking he's not a participating member of the team and just a body to put on an opposing player. It also makes the opposing players work a little harder on yhe floor. It's so frustrating seeing a series of bad coaches run talented Lakers teams. This has been going on for 10 years + now. 2014-17 teams did not have the talent.

Maybe now people will understand why I advocated for Mike D’Antoni back when we still had Vogel. Frank’s offense was similar to Darvin’s and he’s only succeeding to an extent now because he has 3 all world iso playmakers.
Mike D’s system IS about the ball never sticking in one players hands and an equal opportunity system.

Yeah I see the logic, but I still don’t trust No D Antoni to put it together and make it all work in the post season. His system always got his teams a lot of wins in the regular system and some success in the playoffs but his over reliance on a high powered offense while placing little emphasis on an adequate defense will NEVER work in winning it all imo. Even GS when they were the most dangerous offensive team in the league could play defense in the playoffs. Their emphasis on signing 2 way players versus D Antoni’s philosophy of finding players who could score proved to be the winning formula in today’s NBA landscape. So while No D Antoni could theoretically be an immediate solution, to me he’s still not a long-term solution to accomplishing the ultimate goal in getting a team over the hump because when the game tightens up on the highest stage, if all he can say is “C’mon guys! Go, go, go!!” that’s not going to be enough to overcome the adversity that’s sure to come against the best teams when it’s all on the line.

But to be fair, I don't think History is really pushing for Dantoni anymore. I think that was during the Vogel/Russ trainwreck season.

I’d take him as lead assistant to help guide the offense though. But yes, mid season when we had Vogel and Russ I advocated Mike D because his system made the most sense for Westbrook. if we wanted to make Russ work,we had to make moves to make it work NOT do what Frank Vogel did and reduce him to a walk it up PG who stood around waiting for the 3p kick out. That was the dumbest thing I’d seen in coaching since Mike D running Pau and Dwight in his uptempo offense.

Laker front office got in their own way on that one.

Laker front office got in their own way on that one. The idea of the Lakers getting cheap ever makes zero sense, clearly the front office is disfunctional and/or in over their heads. This team should have Caruso and Ty Lue in place for multiple seasons now (and possibly another trophy in the case).
