Look at the pace of the game with Lebron and AD back compared to the Boston game.
It’s nowhere near what it was and we’re back to watching Lebron walking the ball back up the court and him shooting 30 footers with barely any ball movement.
Frustrating to watch.

Lakers not winning this game.
Knicks are a scorching hot team at the moment and we were playing them stride for stride about 2.5 quarters but the Knicks have surged to close out the 3rd.
It’s within reach but I don’t like what I’m seeing to end the 3rd.

Night and day from the Boston game. Ham said he wanted pace during an in game interview. Have to assume he is pushing pace as a game plan as well There is a disconnect somewhere.

Forget Murray. Lakers have a defensive guard in Max Christie. If the Hawks would take Vincent, Hood and a bunch of 2nd round picks then fine. They won't, so Lakers just roll with what they got. Wait for the buyout market.

give up no points in the last 6 and a half minutes until the Knicks start intentionally fouling and stat padding and get 9 quick points is a good formula to win games

who would've thought this road trip we would have lost the Rockets and Hawks but beat Boston and NY.

Also underrated for AD is that he impacted and controlled the game without scoring. He dominated the Knicks defensively, commanded boards and simply ran the game. We got points from the perimeter players who got play more loose and free compared to prior in the season.

Wait for the buyout market. I do think Max plays solid athletic defense and I like him playing more. He still makes mistakes that hopefully he cleans up with more time and experience. I liked Taurean off the bench. It’s where he belongs and he can still provide solid effort and willingness to shoot from deep. Crazy that he still played 33 mins. Rui was subtly solid on that end too. Thought Ham went away from him per usual but also has a place on this team. He rebounded some key boards and we need that with Vando out. When Cam comes back he should work to grab every rebound.

This is why I’ve been saying the problem isn’t the roster as much as it is the coaching. It’s not a perfect roster but we can compete with anybody.
We beat Boston without AD and Bron then went in NY who had a 9 game winning streak and beat them.
But I’m afraid these wins will only let Ham keep his job.

The Boston win sealed it imo. The roster just needs a slight tweak with 1 more playmaker who also isn’t a sieve defensively. Dennis Schroder like. Might be a good idea to get 1 more 5 but only if you flip Wood or Hayes. Don’t need 4 5’s on the roster. Someone with physicality but also isn’t a brain dead bum of player with no skill.

Wait for the buyout market. I don't like this line of thinking. I don't want one guard with defensive abilities, all that means is more screens/picks to force the switch. Plus, there's still the matter of DLo's player option (and his inability to play in the 4th in the playoffs). If DLo was still playing poorly, everyone would want him gone, but his value would be cratered. Now he's at least improved that trade interest, time to take advantage. His contract was designed for this.

These wins are crucial to the end goal (playoffs), but aren't as impressive when you look deeper. Single digit win over the Hornets without Ball? Beating the Knicks without OJ and Randle? The Celtics win was a classic case of the opponent taking the short-handed team for granted, tough to take much from that. Prior, you have those bad losses to the Hawks and Rockets. Jeckyl and Hyde Lakers.
