I hate complaining about refs but tonight is egregious.
This latest blocking call on Lebron in OT is so blatant the ref who made the call should be forced to retire.

This one is up there with among the most frustrating games of the year. Refs aside the countless follies and errors are mind blowing.

Also Lebron James is greatest chase down shot blocker of all time and 2nd place isn’t close.

Worst call of the day was a non call. Lebron clearly fouled on a drive and Tyus Jones hit a 3. Then ham gets a T on top of it. 6 point swing and changed everything
Looking ahead I’d rest AD, Bron, and probably others vs the Nuggets.

Refs were beyond awful in that game. Were the refs on a back to back as well? Or were they out partying in LA all night? Some of it was just mindblowing.
Could definitely see this coming though. Typical NBA trap game. 2nd night of a back to back, coming off an intense big comeback win the night before, young "weak" more rested team coming in to the Lakers arena. Could tell pretty early in this game that the Lakers were gonna have to just find a way to grind it out. Losing would have been almost unacceptable even under the circumstances. AD had a great statistical night with 40pt 15reb but even he looked a little gassed at times, not challenging some shots that he normally can.
Nuggets coming to town on Saturday and I don't believe the Lakers have the luxury of resting anybody against them. They need every game they can possibly get right now to get out of the 9/10 single elimination play-in slots and jump at least into the 7/8 double elimination play-in slots. Jamal Murray sprained his ankle last night so there's a chance he may not be playing or may not be at 100%.

Also Lebron James is greatest chase down shot blocker of all time and 2nd place isn’t close. That chase down on Poole was a thing of beauty. Was gonna be a dunk too! Mama mia

Bring on the Nuggets.
AD played well last night against paper mache frontline of the Wizards but that’s going to contrast starkly vs the best big in the game. I didn’t think he’s been playing as well post all star game as he was the weeks before. He somehow has gotten away from the passing game again and but in isolation mode. When he is a strong passer he is at his peak.
That said he’s going to need his brain and his brawn to compete with Nikola. Sabonis showed that Nikola is still vulnerable to the physicality the same he was in 2020. When the Kings played them Domantas played with a lot of force defensively while also using speed and intellect. It crippled Nikola better than I’ve seen anyone do.
