Kobe's dad sold Kobe's 1st title ring for close to a million dollars.
I typically don't post about a player's personal possessions and their family because what they do with what they have is none of our business but this doesn't smell right to me at all.
I know Kobe's relationship with his parents was strained for a long time, but I don't know how a father can just pawn off a championship ring that his son gave him unless perhaps they were dirt poor and had to do it to survive. I don't believe his parents are in that situation. When I read this, I just hurt for Kobe because I know he wouldn't his ring pawned off like this.

I stand corrected in that apparently, they sold his ring back in 2013, for 173,000 dollars--which was old news.
But the ring has apparently been sold over 3 times now which is valued today at nearly a million dollars. The latest as that it was again just recently sold at an auction for nearly a million dollars.

I thought I read something like Vanessa has Kobe's actual championship ring and this was just another one that Kobe had made for his dad.
