..... not wanting/asking them to. Read what that line is Reeeallly saying. We let killers play. Rice and Peterson will both be back, after the proper amount of public contrition. I do think AP gets cut though. Vikings save a ton of cash and cap room Sounds like what Goodell would say during a Presser; when AP suits up and plays his first game, after his reinstatement........ We let killers play. AP should sit; as long as it takes, for Ray Rice to land job. Ray Rice will sit for awhile. What Rice brings to the table; doesn't outweigh his actions. AP will go through some of the same things. But, because of his talent level; certain Owners will overlook AP's actions. What message are you sending..... message you trying to send? When you think of Ray Rice: You think about what he did, and what you saw in the video. When you think of AP: What he can do for my team, that team, etc..... Playoffs..... Super Bowl Contender? What's a switch, etc? Was he raised that way? It doesn't matter, etc; ..... I want my team to sign him, etc. With one player; you think about the female. With the other player; what happened to the child, gets lost or pushed to the side. So, AP can play; when Ray Rice lands a job.

That's a ridiculous false equivalence that just doesn't happen in real life, football or not. The vast majority of abusers don't lose their career permanently, and frankly shouldn't. We certainly don't tie Joe from Accounting's punishment to Jim from Sales. Teams should be free to take the PR hit if they so choose, and deal with the consequences.

Sure, but it says something that there is less uproar over beating your kid until he's bleeding than there is for punching a woman. Both are abhorrent, and should carry similar penalties. If anything, Ray Rice should already be reinstated, as the league knew what he did when they handed down the 2 game suspension. They then put it a stronger penalty after the fact, then went above and beyond that new penalty, all due to bending to media-generated public opinion.

Rice has "benefited" from the NFL massively bungling the case, in that there is backlash against the NFL and there are the folks who think he was subjected to NFL double jeopardy.
