I agree with h2b that policy wise there will be many similarities between Biden and Obama. Like I've read the core national security people will be the same, like Susan Rice. What I meant about GND was Biden and Sanders had a team meeting and Biden said no GND, no M4A, no 420. Obviously h2b can explain things better. By the way, I just wanted to sound off on the latest poll at 270towin.com They have Biden a virtual lock today with 278 electoral votes. It is now a lock.

I meant to say I was a left leaning populist as opposed to a left wing populist. And by that I mean when you take a political science quiz that shows where you are on the political spectrum, that is where I land. As far as the particular candidates I support, that is based on their policies that I can support and I match with them very highly. I only match with Trump around 23% on policy which is the lowest of any candidate. I match with the other candidates I mentioned at 83% or higher. In my view, Joe Biden is running as a right of center republican! He is very hawkish on war, he is against the green new deal, against medicare for all, and against legalizing marijuana. He appears to be far in declining health from what I have seen. I understand Biden is going to be our next president, like it or not. electoralpolls.com has Biden leading in a landslide. I don't believe Joe Biden is the same as Barack Obama just because Biden was Obama's vice president. Dude, I don’t mean to pick on you because you seem like a decent guy, even though you are deliberately adversarial at times, but your arguments don’t make sense. I think you are right in your description of Biden on some fronts, Center right on some things for sure but he’s also center left on others. But regardless of those distinctions they are all virtually the same policies as Obama. It has nothing to do with being “the same” person as Barack in the unspecified way you described. Policy wise they are virtually the same and because he was his VP we don’t have speculate on unknowns, we know what he’s supported in the past. But he is NOT against the Green New Deal. He is in favor of it but only from a Centrist compromise pov. That is a problem but the alternative administration is full board anti Green New Deal. The literal furthest thing to it in every meaningful regard. I can support that statement with tons of evidence if necessary. So when someone tries to claim Joe does not support the GND, they are conflating the idea that the 2 candidates are the same in that regard. They aren’t and aren’t close by a long shot. Trump is the biggest criminal in human history. Yeah I screw up a lot. Apologies to Laker_John, Cholo, The Great One, Dodger Mike, sc laker fan, ChiefsDodgersLakers, and FanoFish. But I don't apologize to st holder. That guy was a SNOB and he was rude AF. And the LBT crowd, "the laker bone thugs" what can I say? I am anti-thug. Deal with it.

Now that Kamala Harris is VP
I am fully on board team Biden Despite telling pollsters I was voting for the Unity Party candidate I am switching my vote I am changing my vote to Joe Biden This is the 2nd best VP pick after Andrew Yang Perhaps Yang for Secretary of the Treasury

Speaking for myself only, Harris is an intelligent person who’s message got lost in a huge Democratic field at the time. She also has natural charisma, probably from years of being a trial attorney and prosecutor.
She is a perfect running mate in that she is well known but won’t steal Biden’s thunder. She could also play the role of “bad cop” (sorry, that phrase may no longer hold a distinction given what we know).
But let’s be real. I would have preferred Elizabeth Warren, but that wasn’t going to happen in this climate, and no one wants a repeat of the 2016 debacle.
All I can say is I can’t wait for Harris to maul Pence in the VP debates.

Harris' record on criminal justice will be attacked as the former California Attorney General as that is probably going to be her most vulnerable area her opponents will attack her for. I don't think progressives on the far left like this pick either, but they will still vote for Biden because the alternative is too toxic and there are no real 3rd party candidates like there were in 2016. At the end of the day, I don't think the Harris VP pick will be enough to sabotage the Biden campaign overall.

Especially with the George Floyd protests still ongoing around the country, Harris has the opportunity to sell herself as both historically tough on crime but recognizes the need for reform and can lead the way doing that. That’s her angle imo. Also from the first debate where she slayed Joe Biden, she and Joe can now hold hands and call for unity in a political optics way that goes beyond anything Warren and Biden could. Elizabeth for Treasury Secretary all the way though.

Yes definitely the left does not like Harris for her record as Attorney General but Trump is already painting her as “the most liberal Senator” which is patently false. She’s a Centrist, she toes the line on most issues and while I personally don’t like that, there is no question that toe the line is worlds better than moving the line. There were 3 paths for America to take: 1 - Continue the far right’s Christian fascist authoritarian stupidity. The kind of “limited government” that is so idiotic it produces the ineptitude that plagues the country now. 2 - Take hard turn left towards what would constitute a moderate in the Europe but painted as Stalinist Communism in ignorant America. Sanders is a New Deal Democrat, a Keynesian economic based leader. Keynesian economics was how America and Europe solved economic problems after the last Depression. 3 - Return to the American middle Centrism that can be slightly prodded leftward due to the Sanders movement. I choose path 2 because duh, but I’m also a pragmatic who defers to the political climate. The primaries proved America wasn’t ready to accept that Socialism is the only way because they’re too hypnotized by the Neoliberal spell that casts the idea of Socialism as Communism, which is false. But when 99% of the population can’t accurately define the 2 who’s to stop them? Meanwhile socialism is the only reason millions of people are eating food and not homeless at the moment.

If anyone is interested in political science, I once again invite people to take the quiz at www.isidewith.com/As the quiz results show, for people who care about the environment at all, Biden/Harris 2020 might be a better choice than Trump
If you vote solely based on policy overall, Biden/Harris 2020 might be a better choice than Trump Despite what you may think of Joe Biden, Senator Kamala Harris does have a favorable history of being strong on law and order. And in my view, Kamala Harris does have the right amount of tolerance for alternative/counterculture lifestyles
The reason I am voting Biden/Harris 2020 is obviously because I like Kamala Harris If you think about solutions that are good for America right now and thru 40 years into the future, personally I think we can build a really good thing if we vote Trump out of office Just my two cents
Biden/Harris 2020 Did I mention

Let me simplify it for you: This election is not about voting FOR Biden, it's about voting Trump OUT of office. There is no "Biden MIGHT be a better choice than Trump". He's clearly the better and only choice to stop Trump from further damaging this country. You don't need to take any political science quiz to see that. All you have to do is open your eyes to see how Trump has and continues to undermine democracy, defy the rule of law, and undermine the medical professionals who are trying to keep people alive from COVID. No need to make it more complicated than that.

I’m pretty sure brother Shao was spot on when he said Wireman was a drunk.
He’s always confused and even when asked a direct question he’ll find a way to dance around it like a drunken ballerina.

And this is ultimately the most important thing every person on the political left has to understand during this extremely important election and the very thing I was advocating for when it was evident Biden was going to defeat Sanders (who was his closest rival) in the primaries. While not all those on the political left share the same views on every issue, at the end of the day when there is a monster in the White House all of those differences must take a back seat to addressing the bigger threat which is currently Trump. If and when Biden is elected, then we can debate the merit of Biden's policies and use every political resource available to push him to appoint people in the White House who most closely align to the political philosophy we want.

Definitely the way I view the situation for sure. But there are those on the left who’ve seem determined to take the Republican approach; complain and point fingers over what things aren’t as opposed to actual reality based tactic. In my experience dealing with such people they overwhelmingly are white and privileged. Angela freakin Davis endorsed Biden.
