His cult movement is about to meet the ultimate test over these next few weeks. We know there are a fair amount of completely brain dead minions who will literally lick the shit out of Trump’s ass. But what are they capable of when push comes to shove? When their Master tells them to retaliate to either his removal from office or his pretend Presidency that he will attempt to maintain if he leaves willingly.
Hard to project at this moment but one thing I know for certain now; pride is the number one guiding emotion dictating politics for the vast majority of people. Following Trump has made millions of people look as stupid as they’ve looked in their entire lives and STILL they won’t relent.

Agreed, but what I don’t get is what exactly has Trump done for his supporters that live in rural parts of the country and are dirt poor. All I have to do is drive about 10-15 miles away from my house and I would be driving through areas where people are literally living in broken down homes in communities that reek of poverty, but they are still proudly flying a Trump flag on their front lawn. I mean I get why the corporate and Wall Street guy would support Trump because they’re generally just as greedy as Trump is and they see Trump as someone who would advance their interests. Even the white evangelical base as much as they disgust me can argue that he fights against abortion and is likely to appoint pro-life judges (not that Trump actually cares about those issues but he will promote those talking points to get their votes). But what has Trump done for poor people who live in these poor rural areas? His tax plan certainly did not not help them, at least not in any long term meaningful way. Most of these folks are white and have very limited social mobility due to poverty, yet they are some of his strongest supporters. The only thing he can appeal to them by has to be race and that people of color are going to displace them. I can’t explain it outside of that very reason.

Because Trump and the right wing ideology that he took over in 2016 has successfully blamed Democrats for all society’s ills. These are people who blame Democrats for things that are 95% bipartisan affairs be it jobs, regulations, immigration or corporate sponsorship. Right wing media talks incessantly about “coastal elites” and “Hollywood elites” as the source of their living in poverty. The challenge is how do you take back the minds of those who are most ignorant and gullible? You probably can’t but their children are another story.

KY has 9 out of the 20 poorest counties in the nation. Yet they keep sending Mitch back. Dems hold the house so this coup attempt won't succeed but what happens when they hold congress? Hello Dictatorship!

Fixing some of the issues of the poorer counties would go a long way IMO. Bringing new clean energy jobs into dying towns, shifting tax breaks from the rich to the middle class and poor, etc.

Certainly appears Biden will have a 50/50 split in the senate, with Harris breaking any tie. We're a few weeks away from starting the roll back of many of Trump's policies.
There has been some discussion of impeaching Trump again to prevent him from running again in the future. I didn't realize that was a thing once out of office?

There has been some discussion of impeaching Trump again to prevent him from running again in the future. I didn't realize that was a thing once out of office? Democrats will control both houses of Congress for sure. This is almost just as important as Biden winning for the simple fact that it means McConnell can no longer preventing important issues from coming to the Senate floor to be discussed and debated on (criminal reform, protections for vulnerable groups of people, economic support for those who are hurting...etc.). McConnell imo has been the 2nd most destructive force in Washington after Trump. The only difference is that he does it more quietly than Trump. Congress cannot impeach someone who no longer holds office. That's not going to happen. A lot can happen in four years. Trump and his kids may be talking a lot about how they're going to come back in 2024, but I wouldn't bet on it. His sons may run for a smaller office in some state, but for all we know Trump might just be in jail. If not in jail, he'll be laying low somewhere. He's got a ton of charges coming against him. And in about a year, I bet Republicans will not want anything to do with him because he will be radioactive to their party. He's already been toxic to Republicans in Georgia as what we saw last night and Republicans are already quietly turning on him for that. In the meantime, look at what's happening in DC as I speak. Chimp Trump supporters are violently trying to take over the capitol building because of voting irregularities that cannot be proven or found and lawsuits that have been thrown out by federal courts headed by Republican judges including the Supreme Court. These are the people that will LOUDLY scream they want "law and order!" except when it applies to them and their reckless and baseless accusations and behavior about an absurd "rigged election".

ATTENTION ALL TRUMPANZEES YOU WERE WRONG IN 2016 YOU WERE WRONG IN 2017 YOU WERE WRONG IN 2018 YOU WERE WRONG IN 2019 YOU WERE WRONG IN 2020 YOU ARE WRONG IN 2021 They were wrong in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015 too. It all started with the birtherism about Obama's citizenship that Trump started and quietly persisted until 2016.

I hate to bring this up (or maybe I’m not), but if that mob in DC had been predominantly black, how many of those people who have already been shot and/or killed or dragged into paddy wagons with their skulls cracked open by batons?
How soon would the National Guard have been called?

In other words, why are these people catching a break?

How soon would the National Guard have been called? I agree but it only exposes the holes in law enforcement that most people already know; There are 2 sets of rules. Should DC have been ready to confront these people? Sure but law enforcement sympathizes with that side more than it does not.

I'm not that optimistic 2b.... He can share his views if wants but doubt he would say anything more than just he’s against what the domestic terrorists did. But even so that is progress from previous conversations where the word of Trump was treated with divinity.

Hearing from some real right wing nut cases that the riot was all because of “Antifa” infiltrators.
They can’t even own up to their own actions.
If you are going to do something like this because you love democracy or you feel like the election was stolen, then fess up to it. Don’t be a coward about it.
