True. I'm amazed by McCain. Back when he was running for pres agsint Obama they said he's too old. He's now outlasted Obama in government. Not exactly much of a path forward for Obama other than maybe "First Man" in a few elections. Presidents are typically out to pasture after their second term, other than some advisory roles. Yeah not in the political sense - O is done.

My response was in the context of your response to what I said about McCain. Ok. We had a comm failure there as I was referring to Rand. Trump said he's got a lot of material to work with as it relates to rand's face but he'll reserve his comments. Gotcha

Never seen so many politicians so absolutely giddy about killing insurance for 30 million Americans, while giving rich people tax breaks, insurance company CEOs huge tax breaks and shifting $1 billion of wealth to the same insurance companies.
They all are acting like they have a hard on for it...

Gerrymandering. That reality alone is enough of a reason IMO to abolish the electoral college. If the process in place now, original framers ideas or not, is fraught with corruption and political manipulation then it fails to achieve its intended purpose. Bingo. Was just talking about that last week. States willfully manipulating voting districts to keep them a particular color politically. You see a lot of this manipulation and cheating in the southern states, particularly Louisiana, Texas, and North Carolina. No matter how "blue" these states are turning every year, these states will continually be "red" states in every national election despite the rapidly changing demographics of the country. As 2B said, that is just one of several reasons to abolish this undemocratic nonsense in the electoral college if there is not going to be any federal oversight of redistricting. www.yahoo.com/news/texas-legislators-drew-districts-undermine-190129678.htmlAnother example of Texas disenfranchising Latino voters by manipulating voting boundaries lines to keep the state Red at all costs. Finally, 2 out of 3 district judges are trying to put an end to this cheating by Texas Republicans.

To make the situation even scarier, the "tyrant" Trump is actually a puppet, whether that be of Steve Bannon, the Republican party, or ultimately Putin and Russia. He smiles mindlessly for the camera as he signs his (or Steve Bannon's) presidential decrees like a child proud of his art project. Does he realize he's just a pawn in all of this ultimately? Any President that gets his "real news" from Alex Jones and Breitbart needs to be dealt with swiftly. Somewhat surprisingly, the stock market hasn't panicked yet under Trump, most likely due to the anticipated revocation of the Dodd/Frank consumer protection act. Lol. Also, what exactly does "dealt with swiftly" mean? removed from office

Here's my periodic bump of this thread again......
Now this president is saying that Andrew Jackson would of prevented the Civil War from happening because he was a "tough" president with a "big heart".
Man, the collective IQ of this country took a hit when this guy came into office and by the time his time is up, I think we will be the dumbest nation on earth.
This 100 days have felt like 100 months.

The fact that there are millions of chimp brained minions is proof positive we live in the stupidest country on earth. Maybe in history of human civilization.

Actually, he would've prevented it because he was a slave owner. That "big heart" offered a reward for a runaway "mulatto slave" with a bonus if the slave was returned already whipped. If the Russia scandal doesn't remove Trump from office, these 4 years are going to feel like 20...

The single digit IQs in the States that voted for Trump were always lying in the weeds, so it's not like their IQs could have dropped more with Trump becoming President.
It's just that he's so blatantly stupid, and arrogant in his idiocy, utterly oblivious to his moronic behavior and lack of wisdom, that these people now feel they have a voice to their own idiocy. "Hey, if the President is that way, there's nothing wrong with me." So they are all coming out of the woodwork.
But as they say, better that people think you a fool than open your mouth and erase all doubt.
His Jackson comment is so laughably absurd that taken alone, you'd drop your jaw. But he's said so many more absurd things that it barely registers now.

I'm not asking for masters degree holders, but let's not leave the important decisions to the unwashed masses. It is going to take some serious effort for the next president to hose the Trump stank off; 4 years may not be enough.

I'm assuming you're being facetious when you say that, but that is the same thing the hardcore right wing conservatives were saying when Obama was elected twice. It's going to take the Democrats getting fresh blood in Washington who are willing to convince those poor blue collar white voters in the midwest states to see Trump as who he really is.

I remember a sign that one Tea Party idiot was holding when the ACA was first being debated. The sign read "Keep the government's hands off my Medicare!"
Nevermind the fact that Medicare IS a government program in the first place.
Nevermind that the Tea Party idiots in the House have just approved a bill that would totally gut Medicare.
It will take the hand of God to reach the minds of these idiots who continually vote against their own interests.
It's very depressing.

But what's really mind boggling is that some of those same people don't want Obamacare removed and are fighting tooth and nail to keep it now.

The problem is more ideological than logical. Self interest based hucksters have this portion uneducated, faith based Americans warped into buying their kool aid. These are people who adamantly reject facts and who proudly pronounce their prejudices outwardly. It's quite the toxic mix for any society.
The corruption of capitalism is hemmoragging.

By any other definition, these people are crazy.

That's because the hardcore right is racist and thinks incorrectly that all minorities are stupid. The real problem is the white trash that votes for racism, homophobia and guns over their own interests.
