There was no way he wasn’t bowing out. The Dems are finding out real quick no one wants the puppet VP they secured for identity politics points in 2020. Knowing the DNC it’s going to be some middle America pandering Republican in Dems clothing type like Amy Klobachar.

Kamala reportedly has enough pledged delegate votes and is the presumptive nominee right now ahead of the convention. Wild.

So tired of the fringe extremists on both sides of the aisle controlling the narrative. MAGAt Squad, Progressive Squad. Smh
These people do not reflect the majority of us. They are the minority that thinks their extreme policies are the only solutions. Compromise is weakness. Common sense is nonsense. Trying to understand both sides of a discussion with the intent of finding common ground is folly.
The results is gridlock and wreaks of impropriety as it relates to who is actually controlling the situation. Hint: it’s not the president. Not the VP. Not the house. Not the Senate.
But yet this Idiocracy laps it up. Allowing social media and extreme news media to provide the rationale for their fringe beliefs.
The moderates get called a RINO from the MAGAt Squad and a Republican in Dem clothing from the Dem Squad. The thing is, people like Klobuchar and Biden (before he got hijacked by the Dem Squad) got stuff done. They get people from both sides to debate and come to a common sense solution using the best ideas from both sides. They pass legislation. They do what’s best for all of us and not half of us.
And now we get to choose between a narcissistic convict and someone that couldn’t even get past Iowa in the previous primary.
Sad times brothers.

It is sad times indeed.
But it is not sad based on what you just laid out. What’s sad is that good people, like you, actually believe what you just wrote. Extremists on both sides? Lol. That’s absurdity of the highest order. There is no extreme left in the US. That was stamped out 100 years ago.
Here’s some factual info for you on political ideology; extreme left would be a communist regime. The Communist Party does not exist in America, thus it makes ZERO sense to even claim “extremism.” The Squad is a made up of Democratic Party reps who lean left from the far right middle that is America. The gap between them and Communists is a wide as one between Jeb Bush and Donald Trump.
The “middle” is a bullshit middle that Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton built a generation ago. Traditional media echoed this “middle” for decades and now Boomers and Gen X believe it to be without factual verification; a form of indoctrination. This middle is EXACTLY how we got to where we stand today.
Even more laughable is to claim that “The Squad” control or influence Biden. They are literally 4 Congress reps out of 435. 1% lol
What exactly did Klobachar and Biden “get done” before? The Iraq war? The Afghanistan war? NAFTA? 1994 Crime Bill? Biden co authored that bill with Southern racist Strom Thurmand. He supported the denigration of Anita Hill in order to pave the way for Clarence Thomas to become a life time appointee. Delaware, the State he served in the Senate for decades is ground zero for credit card industry and the expansion of a debt peonage society that 80s Wall Street made a normal part of American culture.
Around the time Barack Obama took office the Republican Party veered off the rails to the far right and take no part in parliamentary politics… you know, where people work in good faith to serve the people they represent. The Senate and the House are owned by Corporations. Period. The corruption is so vast and deep that getting members to actually “work together” isn’t possible. They’ve been bought and sold by the unlimited funds that flow into their campaigns thanks to Citizens United. To pretend that this dysfunction is the result of “The Squad” is the single dumbest comment in this entire thread.
And it’s the longest thread of all time.

Rumor is Kamala would be leaning towards trying to get Josh Shapiro, governor of Pennsylvania, to be her VP running mate. It's imperative they win Pennsylvania. They need to win 2 or all 3 of PA, MI, and WI.
I'm sure the Dem power brokers are going to be watching closely over the next week or two before the Convention. Right now Kamala is getting her trial run but nothing is official quite yet. If her numbers don't look good enough to them or if they think they can do better I wouldn't be surprised if they switch her out.

The other leading candidate would be Kelly in AZ. She needs AZ and NV as well, although I agree PA, MI, and WI are key..
Kelly would bring in more center and center right voters.

I mean this respectfully because you know I like you guys but do you know how absurd it sounds to hear you talking about how in this “democracy” you effectively have to win “battleground states” as opposed to simply be based on actual votes?
Not that I need or want an explanation for the electoral college etc, but there is an absurdity to it that is undeniable. No other “democracy” on earth has an electoral process like this. Now Harris will pick a VP, not based on overall effectiveness as a Vice President but rather to try and win a “battleground state.” That’s absurd and antithetical to the concept of representative government.
Still don’t think she can win even if the mainstream media is running a “Hilary” campaign with her right now. Once she opens her mouth and goes tit for tat with Don the Con, I think that’ll seal it. But we shall see.

But we shall see. I completely understand and agree with you 100%. I have said this over and over and over again. My first post on page 2 of this thread I explain why the Electoral College is a joke as well. It is NOT a democratic process and that is by design by the authors of the U.S. Constitution. We are the only country on earth that uses this undemocratic piece of crap system to elect one of the most powerful people on earth to run a superpower nation. That said, anything that I say about the election is based on "how it is" not on "what should be" because as undemocratic as the system is, I'm only discussing the possibilities of the outcome of the election based on the parameters that are already in place. I too have said and I'm worried that Kamala will not be able to beat Trump as well. But her chances of beating Trump outweighs that of Biden. And I'll tell you this--I will be rooting my A** off for her to win if she is indeed going to be the Democratic Party candidate (which I believe at this point she will). Not because I'm a Kamala fan, but because you and I (and several others here) understand what is at stake if Con Man gets another 4 years. I know many folks still don't like either one of them, but at the end of the day, I really believe that people's lives will be in real danger if Con Man is elected to office again. Trump and the people around him do not want people of color, women, those whose sexual orientation is different than the majority, and immigrants to have the same rights and opportunities as white men in this country. So, whatever Kamala's shortcomings are as a candidate, it is a distant second concern to me when compared to the alternative.

Yeah, I think she has an opportunity to turn some things around on Don, like the age / mental capacity factor but also a host of political ideas. Whether she will successfully is to be determined. What I don’t like about her is during the last primary in 2020 she lost miserably even in CA, her own representative state. I think she was polling 2% of the vote. Now she’s been propped up as the assumed nominee without any actual voting from the public. There is something fundamentally wrong with that. I’ll support her if her positions and ideas are worthy but I think she’s probably going to be prototypical Obama / Biden corporate Democrat. The Right wing, left holding their dicks after Biden dropped out, have to tread lightly on race baiting so they appear to be taking the angle that she is the most far left senator ever. Fucking laughable considering her positions stemming from top prosecutor lean middle left. The right relies on ignorance and emotion in its messaging which is why and how Donald Trump has been so successful.

To pretend that this dysfunction is the result of “The Squad” is the single dumbest comment in this entire thread. And it’s the longest thread of all time. You are funny man. I really do get a kick out of your antics. We’ve been at it a while. Thank God we’re still here doing it. It’s really ok to disagree. It’s pretty well-known and acknowledged that the “Progressive Squad” represents the “Far Left Wing” of the Democratic Party. don’t know if you agree, but most understand that far = extreme in politics. And there are more than four members of the squad. btw It is also acknowledged that Klobuchar and Biden have sponsored and helped pass a lot of legislation. Much of which is very important to our country. They did that by reaching across the aisle to find a solution that is palatable for everyone. Usually ending up with no one getting everything they wanted. I know that is what I expect of my elected officials. To get stuff done. Ok. So I won’t call the “Squads” extremists. They are well-acknowledged “far-left and far-right”. Maybe that makes it more palatable for some. In either case, they both think their seemingly “far” ideas are the only ones that will work. So they essentially marginalize the majority of us since the majority of us aren’t “far”. Most importantly, they don’t get stuff done because it’s “their way or the highway”. To not find middle ground and compromise means nothing gets done. If it does, it’s “far” and therefore not what the majority of us want. I couldn’t agree with you more on the subject of corruption and that many of our elected officials are owned by corporations “the swamp”. Particularly on the right. Also, I didn’t say it was the “progressive squad” is solely responsible for the dysfunction. I said both “squads”. “Far” views create inertia, which is toxic for our country. As far as “dumbest comment”? Bro, you got that one covered when you said Nancy Pelosi visiting Taiwan is going to cause WW3. That was reeeeaaalllly dumb. I still love you man. You’re like the Bill O’Reilly of progressives.

Blah blah blah you said nothing to support your feelings bruh. All you did was revert to “it is well known” which is basically a Donald Trump like chimp move.
The euphemism of “it is well known” is effectively saying “the mainstream media tells me so and so it is.” You can’t actually substantiate your view in your own words by breaking down political ideologies based on your comprehension of what they are and mean. Nope, it’s just the “ it is well known” prove-you-know-nothing cop out.
That’s ok, it wouldn’t be the first time you’ve ever bent over, spread each cheek and spoke out from your corn hole. Take your next attempt at a point about Klobachar and Biden… can’t name a single thing they actually accomplished. Instead you are speaking in politico cliche using phrases like “both sides of the aisle.” All just jibberish.
But in the ultimate self own you go on to admit that corruption is a huge problem in Washington, and despite that admission you want those who literally among the corrupt to get back to getting everything in order. LOL. I mean couldn’t get much more delusional mainstream media boy.

Whoah... Kamala picks Walz from Minnesota as her VP running mate?? Not sure what the reasoning is. Why not go for someone in a swing state??

Whoah... Kamala picks Walz from Minnesota as her VP running mate?? Not sure what the reasoning is. Why not go for someone in a swing state?? She chose the most progressive candidate among her pool of candidates approved by the DNC. Already being painted as “far left” by morons who couldn’t accurately define a political spectrum of their life depended on it. Walz is far left according to the right because he provides free school lunches to the poorest school children in his state. If you can wrap your head around that and think it makes sense, then you too have been skull fucked by the right wing media. Basically Harris and the DNC are doubling down on Gen Z and their broad base of new voters. About 41 million NEW voters 18-21 that weren’t eligible last election cycle. Also an estimated 21 million voting boomers have since passed. It’s all only a matter of time before the avalanche comes crashing down on Republicans and then eventually Democrats if they don’t evolve. The next generation will have grown up with empathetic values stemming from the internet culture post 9/11. They will not have been lifetime indoctrinated against socialism and communism like the boomers and Gen X. I don’t know if this calculus will work for Harris but I like it much better than most of the other options. Especially that shithead from Arizona.

I was thinking Shapiro from PA but perhaps they are confident enough in PA already so no need.
Interesting scenario... if Dems score all 3 of Wisconsin/Michigan/PA and Repubs score Nevada/Georgia/Arizona along with the red congressional district in Maine and the Omaha Nebraska congressional district, there is a real chance it ends up 269 to 269 in the electoral college vote. That would send the election to the House of Representatives where the Repubs have the vote advantage.

And now the report comes out that Walz is at the center of the police push in Minnesota to make it harder to prosecute cops accused of misconduct. This coming off the heels of George Floyd’s murder in Minnesota.
That is “far left” in America. “It is well known.” 😂
And it appears Harris chose to bypass Shapiro due to his staunch support of Israel. I assumed he was going to be her pick since they announced the pool of candidates, based on his state and stakes for the electoral votes.
But with a full scale regional war looking more and more likely and Gen Z’s protesting of the war, she again appears more clearly to be doubling down on the youth vote. If her VP were a staunch supporter of war criminal state it would make for a political ticking time bomb.

I thought Shapiro would be the better pick because it would all but lock up Pennsylvania.
However, to 2b’s point I think Walz appeals much better to the young voters out there who are pissed off and protesting against Israel. Shapiro would likely alienate that voting bloc. I have to say Walz comes across very genuine and I like the fact that he knows what it means to be a lower middle class citizen trying to pay the bills. He was a Social Studies teacher card high school football coach too. He talks very common sense and I’m liking him more and more. He is very likely the most progressive candidate on the Democratic side.
At the end of the day I like the direction it is still heading for Harris, but there is still a long way to go and a lot of work to do.

I completely overlooked Shapiros pro-Israel stance. They could lose some Jewish votes with Walz pick but then again they're only like 2.5% of the population. Better off trying to keep the young votes as 2b mentioned.
